Portraits: Tasha Botz

These pictures are a few years old – 2011 to be exact.  I was still new to photography and had just graduated to a more decent camera – the Nikon D40.  I really enjoyed it.  My neighbors’ daughter, Tasha, was graduating that year and asked me to do her senior portraits, which I remember adamantly not wanting to do because I was so new and I really didn’t think my little camera was good enough.

Looking back on the pictures, which I’ve not done in quite some time, I can see how inexperienced I was.  I had NO idea what I was doing and thankfully I had my wife with me, who is really good at posing subjects.  I do remember, however, being more satisfied than I thought I would be at how they turned out, especially the one of her by the river.  I was not only new to photography but also new to Photoshop and I actually managed to paint out the people on the other side of the river behind her without really having a grasp on making it work.
